Prince Harry was taking part in the 3rd Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, a charity match on Governor's Island, to raise money for his charity Sentebale, which gives aid to children in the African nation of Lesotho, many of whom are AIDs orphans.

The Prince was playing with four-strong team Black Rock against Polo Legend the Nacho Figueras and his team Black Watch. It was ultimately a victory for the Argentineans, though Prince Harry scored two goals early on in the match.

He was obviously not too upset by the fall, which seemed to come about as the Prince pulled up and lost his balance. It was a neat over-the-shoulder fall that every horse rider is familiar with - he even landed on his feet. It would have been even better if he'd managed to stay standing … but the at least the third-in-line for the throne was uninjured.

He took his fall in good grace, getting straight back up again, brushing himself off, and going off after his pony. The Black Rock team went on to lose to Black Watch in overtime.

Even though he didn't manage to walk away the winner, it is likely that he managed to raise a large amount for Sentebale, thought the final amount is not yet available; however, the lowest price for a VIP table for ten was twenty thousand dollars; the tables closest to the prince went for fifty thousand, and a picnic on the grass cost two hundred and fifty dollars per person.

And after his little trip, the Prince proved to be a big hit with his female fans; and although security managed to keep the majority of the hoards at bay, two ladies did manage to slip through and meet Harry in person. Harry, ever the gentleman, chatted with them for a bit before posing for pictures.

So, apart from that minor hiccup in the form of an involuntary dismount, the 3rd Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic was a success for all; and especially, it is hoped, for the children to be helped by Sentebale.
